Full Description

Begin Your Journey at Abydos

Your tour starts with a 7:00 am pickup from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor. From here, you'll be transferred in a private A/C vehicle for the 135 km drive to Abydos, one of Egypt's most sacred and historically significant sites.

Abydos is renowned for the Osiris Temple, dedicated to Osiris, the god of the afterlife and the underworld. The temple was built by King Seti I and completed by King Ramses II. It's a remarkable example of ancient Egyptian architecture, with walls adorned by stunning reliefs of gods and pharaohs. Notably, the Osireion, a subterranean chamber, can be found at the rear of the temple, believed to be the burial place of Osiris. The Abydos graffiti—ancient Phoenician and Aramaic inscriptions—also adds to the mystique of this location.

Next, Explore Dendera and the Temple of Hathor

After discovering Abydos, head towards Dendera, where you'll visit the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of love, joy, and music. This well-preserved temple is situated on the west bank of the Nile, not far from Luxor. The Temple of Hathor is considered one of the best preserved in Egypt, with vibrant color still visible on its walls. The intricate carvings and hieroglyphics offer a fascinating glimpse into the religious practices of ancient Egyptians.

The Temple of Hathor is famous not only for its beauty but also for its rich history, as it was dedicated to the goddess who was associated with music, dance, and fertility.
